General information
Some general information about me, about my art, and some thoughts on shoujo-ai.
About me
I'm Finnish, like the outdoors a lot (hiking, cycling and swimming are great) and study at the university of Helsinki. I've been a vegan since 1996 and consider that to be one of the sources of my energy and creativeness. I also like music and play many instruments.
Shoujo-ai couples, likely and not
Not all the shoujo-ai couples you see in my pictures are equally likely. Some could be considered "canon", ie. generally regarded as a couple, others are simply possible pairings, maybe likely, maybe not. I'll leave it to you to judge whether a couple is plausible; if you don't like the idea of Motoko and Shinobu kissing, move on to another picture (I think they're very compatible and very cute together ^_^ But that's based on the manga, not the anime).
My tools
In case you are curious about the tools I use to make these pictures, here is a list in use order:
- Paper: basic copier paper. I prefer 160g and 120g, but 80g works okay too
- Sketching and drawing: Caran D'ache Fixpencil 884 2.0 mm mechanical pencil, 3B lead
- Fine drawing: Marsmicro 0.7 mm mechanical pencil, HB lead, and Pentel P203 0.3 mm mechanical pencil, HB lead
- Erasers: Maped Softy and Faber-Castell Art Eraser
- Inking: Japanese "G-Pen" and "maru" dip pen nibs and japanese ink, Sakura Pigma Microns in 005, 01
- Special effects: Acrylics, inks and digital photography
- Transfer: Canon LiDE 20 scanner
- CG: PhotoShop CS2, Paint Shop Pro X
- CG control: Wacom Intuos A6 drawing tablet
